This weekend, Slovenian capital city Ljubljana and its Kayak Centre Tacen will host very strong international competition ECA I Feel Slovenia Tacen 2024 European Open Canoe Slalom Cup, which attracted more than 230 competitors from 19 countries. The competition weekend will bring the first selection race for the Slovenian canoe slalom national team as well as for some other nations.

At the age of 41 Spanish canoe slalom paddler Maialen Chourraut continues with her excellent performances. One of the most successful canoe slalom paddlers in history is competing very well at the Spanish Olympic selections and is looking strong to qualify for her fifth Olympics.

Huningue, a commune in the Haut-Rhin department of France and a northern suburb of the Swiss city of Basel, which also borders Germany, hosted the ICF World Ranking race which also counted for the 2024 ECA Open Canoe Slalom European Cup series. Two wins of the weekend went to Germany, one to Czechia and one to the host organisers – Switzerland.

Pau hosted the second race in the Pyrenees Cup race series, and this canoe slalom and kayak cross race also counted as the second race in the 2024 ECA Open Canoe Slalom European Cup race series. British paddler Mallory Franklin recorded two wins, while the other first places stayed in the hands of French paddlers.

The 2024 ECA Canoe Slalom European Cup series started this weekend with first race of the year. The first race was a part of the Pyrenees Cup held in La Seu d’Urgell. Spanish canoe slalom paddlers took all podium positions in canoe slalom, while wins in kayak cross went to Great Britain and Andorra.
