Liam Jegou is set to become the first man to compete for Ireland at the Olympic C1 canoe slalom since Mike Corcoran at Atlanta in 1996. He got his spot in internal qualifications by beating Robert Hendrick, who actually won the quota for Ireland at last year’s World Championships in La Seu d’Urgell.
