The fourth CEZ Czech Cup in Prague on 13 May closed the Czech selection races for the season 2018. At the same time the Czech titles have been awarded to the fastest athletes. Vavřinec Hradilek got a revenge for his unsuccessful selection races as he won the title in men´s kayak beating Prskavec and others.

There is some surprising news coming from Slovakia. Their canoe slalom selection races ended yesterday with 70th edition of international Tatra slalom. With many young and promising athletes coming, there were some surprises after the fourth selection race and we will not see Olympic medallists competing at the 2018 ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships in Prague. Temperature before the Czech selections rises as there is only one spot left

Only one month before the 2018 ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships in Prague – Troja starts (1st - 3rd June), the Czech paddlers expect one of the most crucial competitions this weekend. The canoe slalom course on Trnávka in Želiv welcomes the first two races of the CEZ Czech Cup 2018, which is also the Czech selection race for the national team. On 5th and 6th May we will see the real ‘Czech power on the water’ especially in the men´s kayak event with Vavrinec Hradilek, Vit Prindiš, Jiri Prskavec and the reigning World Champion Ondrej Tunka.

Alexander Grimm waves goodbye to professional canoe slalom

German slalom kayaker and 2008 Olympic Champion Alexander Grimm decided to end his professional sporting career and seek for new challenges in other areas of life. 31-year-old from Augsburg holds a mechanical engineering degree and is pursuing an MBA with the aim of becoming an industrial engineer.
