It is not an easy task to get a place in the Spanish K4 500 metres boat. Seven kayakers are still in play to become a part of this crew with eyes set on Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. We are already used that German paddlers are frequently in the spotlight of Gala evenings, organised in honour of sporting successes of German athletes. It was no different this time in Dresden. German canoe sprinters Steffi Kriegerstein and Tom Liebscher received the awards for best female and male athlete in Dresden at the 26th annual gala evening. Jens Kühn received an award for the coach of the year.
