Four European canoe slalom paddlers will be written in history as the first medallists of kayak cross final of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Gold medals went to Oceania, while silver and bronze medals stayed in Europe, more precisely in France, Great Britain and Germany.

German canoeist Elena Lilik won silver medal in exciting women’s canoe final of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Australian Jessica Fox won gold and became the most successful canoe slalom paddler in Olympic history.

After two sets of canoe slalom medals were already awarded it was time for another day of heats at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical stadium. Women’s canoe and men’s kayak heats did not bring many surprises. Titouan Castryck was the fastest in men’s kayak heats and Gabriela Satkova in women’s canoe heats.

French canoeist Nicolas Gestin coped well with the pressure of Olympic Games and loud home fans and dominated in the men’s canoe event in all stages from heats to the final. At the end he was crowned new Olympic champiom. Adam Burgess and Matej Benus completed an all European podium.
