Czech canoe slalom paddlers fought for the places in the national team this weekend in Prague. One of the greatest canoe slalom paddlers of all times Vavrinec Hradilek was among those who were on the start line, however he took this opportunity to say goodbye to canoeing family and fans and retire from professional canoe slalom.

The German Canoe Federation has a new president. Dajana Pefestorff was unanimously elected to take over the president’s position from Jens Perlwitz who announced his resignation. Dajana Pefestorff is the first female at the helm of the German Canoe Federation.
