Spanish and French celebration at II Mediterranean Beach Games

Spanish and French celebration at II Mediterranean Beach Games 2.9.2019

The 2nd edition of Mediterranean Beach Games was organised in Patras, Greece, and among eleven sports celebrated at this multi-sport event was also canoe ocean racing. Angie Le Roux celebrated a win in women’s event and Walter Sanchez Bouzan was the best in men’s part of the competition.

Competitors from Italy, France, Portugal, Greece, Spain and Cyprus took part in these races.
Paddlers, experienced in ocean racing and marathon, have been among the medallists in women’s and men’s kayak events. It was last year’s Ocean Racing European Champion from Villajoyosa Angue Le Roux (FRA) who won the race in front of two Spanish paddlers who were also on the podium of last year’s European Championships. Judit Verges Xirfa picked up silver medal in Greece and Amaia Osaba Olaberri bronze medal, the same as last year in Spain.

In men’s event Spanish kayaker Walter Sanchez Bouzan, multiple medallist of World and European Canoe Marathon Championships and 2016 Ocean Racing European Champion, won the champion title at 2nd Mediterranean Beach Games, after crossing the finish line ahead of French representative Victor Doux and the 2018 Ocean Racing European Champion Esteban Medina Ojeda, also from Spain.
