Several medals for European canoe marathon paddlers in China

China, which will host the 2019 Canoe Marathon World Championships, has organised final Canoe Marathon World Cup events of the season. Athletes from 24 countries and five continents took part in the competitions which were in Shanghai and Shaoxing. European paddlers did well in the Far East.


Adrian Boros, the best Hungarian K1 canoe marathon paddler, won silver medals both in Shaoxing and Shanghai. He crossed the finish line just behind Andrew Birkett (RSA) both times. In Shaoxing Italian paddler Filippo Vincenzi picked up bronze medal in men’s K1 event, while in Shanghai Joakim Lindberg (SWE) finished third in this event.
 
Jennifer Egan (IRL) as well picked up silver medal at both venues. In Shaoxing Anna Kožiškova from Czech Republic won in front of Egan and Lizzie Broughton (GBR), while in Shanghai Eva Barrios (ESP) celebrated a win in front of Egan and Kristina Bedec from Serbia.
 
Bence Balazs Dori (HUN) was the best C1 paddler in Shaoxing, crossing the finish line ahead of Jakub Brezina (CZE) and Mateusz Zuchora (POL). In Shanghai Jakub Brezina stepped up and won a gold medal, ahead of Mateusz Zuchora and Russian Roman Erlinekov.
