Semi-finalists of the 200 metres events in Győr are known

The last part of the canoe sprint competitions at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Győr, Hungary, is getting closer. On Saturday only the semi-finals and finals A and B in the 200 metres events are to be organised and it will be over. Today’s competition brought the names of the semi-finalists in the 200 metres events that remain in the game for the last sets of medals. In the 200 metres heats Hungarian and Slovak paddlers produced the best runs.

Young canoe sprint athletes from Hungary and Slovakia were among the fastest during the penultimate day of the competitions in Győr. Eszter Rendessy (K1W), Csenge Molnar (C1W), Mark Opavszky – Kristof Domonkos Kereszets (K2M), Szabina Szellak – Eszter Rendessy (K2W), Benedek Horvath – Csenge Molnar (C2 mix) and Hungarian K4 crew were the Hungarian winners of today’s heats races. Six Slovak boats too celebrated a win in their respective 200 metres heats races. Lucia Valova was the best in women’s C1 heat race number 3, Martin Hvojnik was the fastest in the first K1M group as well as in men’s K2 together with Richard Nemeth. Romana Jakubisova (K1W), Eduard Strycek (C1M) and Lucia Valova – Eduard Strycek (C2 mix) also produced the fastest times in their groups today.

Among the winners of today’s 200 metres heats were also Edvards Ceipe (LAT), Nikita Byzov (RUS), Xoel Garcia Neira (ESP) and Miha Fartek (SLO) in men’s K1 events, Hanna Pashchanka (BLR) and Enya Dale (GBR) in women’s K1, Matvei Zhukov (RUS), Manuel Fontan Senorans (ESP) and Uladzislav Shakhnitski (BLR) in men’s C1 and Anastasia Vazhniskaia (RUS), Gabriele Čerepokaite (LTU) and Denisa Rahova (CZE) in women’s C1.

Nikita Byzov – Dmitrii Morgunov (RUS) and Moritz Willi Florstedt – Elias Miguel Kurth (GER) were also the fastest in men’s K2, Hanna Pashchanka – Iryna Shkred (BLR), Vanessa Yvonne Bülow – Svenja Larissa Hardy (GER) and Lucrezia Zironi – Irene Bellan (ITA) won in their K2W heats’, Anastasiya Zhuk – Uladzislau Shakhnitski (BLR) and Carolina Gonzalez Carvalho and Manuel Fontan Senorans (ESP) won the C2 mix heats, while Russian, Belorussian, German and British K4 mix crews crossed the finish line with the fastest time in their heats’.

The 200 meters semi-finals as well as A and B finals in K1M, K1W, C1M, C1W, K2M, K2W, C2 mix and K4 mix events will be organised tomorrow.
