Polish Olympic Committee awarded the best young athletes of the year 2018 during the annual New Year’s Olympic Family Meeting held on 12th January 2019 in Warsaw. This year the meeting was even more special because of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the POC. In 2018 Bartosz Grabowski won gold medals at the 2018 ICF Junior Canoe Sprint World Championships and 2018 ECA Junior Canoe Sprint European Championships in men’s K1 200 metres event.

He was also the 2017 ECA Junior European Champion in men’s K4 500 metres event together with Przemyslaw Korsarz, Filip Weckwert and Wojciech Tracz. The same team won silver medal at the 2017 ECA Junior European Championships.

Bartosz Grabowski continued winning streak of young Polish kayakers. Last year this prestigious award went to the hands of sprint paddlers Justyna Iskrzycka and Paulina Paszek.

Among the guests at the ceremony were the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, Minister of Sport and Tourism Witold Banka, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Japan and Polish Olympic medallists.
