Krumlov Canoe Marathon attracted numerous participants

Czech Republic hosted the traditional and well known Krumlov Canoe Marathon which attracted more than 400 boats in the 36 kilometres event, and additional 300 boats and SUPs that took part in the shorter marathon distances. Representatives of Czech Republic and Germany took majority of the medals in 16 events of the 36 kilometres long race. Special sprint event was also organised to accompany the 16th edition of Krumlov Canoe Marathon.


Austrian Christoph Kornfeind was the fastest in men’s K1 sprint event, followed by two Slovenian paddlers Vid Debeljak and Anže Urankar. Ana Paloudova produced the best run in women’s kayak sprint race, Ines Bauerle from Germany was second and Klara Vankova (CZE) third. In men’s canoe sprint final Jakub Brezina (CZE) celebrated in front of Luka Obadić (CRO) and Daniel Suchanek (CZE).
 
In the 36 kilometres long marathon challenge Czech K2 Kamil Mružek - Karel Slepica celebrated an overall win. Petr Mojžišek and Jakub Zavrel crossed the finish line in second place and Matyaš Zieris – Adam Satke were third (all CZE). In the K2 Mix event it was a celebration for German duo Ines Bauerle –Andreas Heilinger, who crossed the finish line in tenth place overall. Their compatriot Nico Paufler was the winner of men’s K1 race, among German winners of their respective categories were also junior kayaker Dittmar Ferdinand and Jan Burgdorf in K1 veteran race.
 
Women’s K2 event was won by Martina Satkova and Ana Paloudova, Barbora Bayerova was the fastest in women’s K1, Karolina Paloudova in junior K1 race, Darragh Clarke from Ireland was the winner of junior C1 event, Croatian Emil Milihram of C1 senior race, while Jakub Brezina and Jan Dlouhy (CZE) celebrated in men’s C2 event.
 
Veteran C2 event was won by Zdenek Herzan and Tomas Kasal (CZE), Jan Riki Šantora and Miša Rihova (CZE) were winners in C2 mix race, the best C3/C4 crew came from Lithuania (Linkevičius, Samaska, Mazeika), Fryer and Fggle (GBR) won in C2 tour category and Peter Smitka (CZE) won in K1 sea event.
