After the canoeing season 2024, many federations held the elections and among them was Polish Canoe Federation. Grzegorz Kotowicz will lead the Polish federation in another Olympic cycle. Grzegorz Kotowicz, a two-time Olympic medallist, received 236 votes, while his opponent Jozef Bejnarowicz got 129.
"I believe it was our openness and the many ideas for the development of canoeing that we put into action. We implemented programmess with the help of the ministry, and our sponsors also supported us. It's important to note that it was the hard work of our entire team and board. We spent a lot of time among the people, helping them, but also in discussions with our partners, sponsors, and the ministry. Thanks to these people, we were able to repeat the results of the previous election," said Kotowicz.
The re-elected president of the Polish Canoe Federation did not hide that he has many plans for the new term. "My main goal is to win a medal in Los Angeles and to further promote canoeing among young people and enthusiasts - recreational and touring canoeing - because that, too, is part of the Polish Canoe Federation and our strength. We want to invest in youth, and the result of that should be Olympic medals. Perhaps our current investments won't pay off yet in Los Angeles, but I believe we already have a great team that will bring home medals, and our ongoing efforts will help us achieve even more after Los Angeles and make our federation even stronger," he added.
Following the presidential vote, the election for board members took place. The most votes—233—went to former top kayaker and Olympic silver medalist from Rio de Janeiro, Marta Walczykiewicz. Alongside her, the following individuals will serve on the board of the Polish Canoe Federation: Barbara Hajcel, Piotr Szczeszek, Ewa Pospychała, Adam Seroczyński,
Grzegorz Kotowicz, the re-elected president of the Polish Canoe Federation, was born on 6th August 1973, in Czechowice-Dziedzice. He won two Olympic bronze medals in Barcelona and Sydney.
