French domination at Wildwater canoeing World Cup race in Treignac

French domination at Wildwater canoeing World Cup race in Treignac 9.6.2019

It took 19 years to bring back major wildwater canoeing events to French village Treignac. In the year 2000 paddlers fought for World Champion titles and this weekend the Vezere River hosted World Cup race. During the two competition days French paddlers took majority of the medals – altogether 23 – in classic and sprint races. Italian, Czech, Swiss and Slovenian representatives won the remaining seven medals. On Saturday former French president François Hollande awarded the best in men’s kayak classic race.
