Portuguese Canoe Federation and the organising team of the 2023 ECA Paracanoe and Junior/U23 Canoe Sprint European Championships has rich experience in organising canoeing events of the highest level, and the venue in Montemor-o-Velho welcomed World's best Canoe Sprint paddlers at Senior World Championships here in 2018, as well as several other championships and World Cups.

 

 

This year's championships of the old continent will combine Paracanoeing European Championships and European Championships in junior and U23 age groups. There will be twelve sets of medals for the grab in paracanoeing part of the championships and 38 in Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint European Championships (19 for each age group).
